Anledningen till att Google vill kunna uppdatera appar även utan inloggning på ett Google-konto är för att stärka säkerheten. Du riskerar aldrig att missa en viktig uppdatering som tätar sårbarheter och annat otyg.
Nackdelen är så klart att Google vill börja skicka data till din telefon även när du inte är inloggad på ett konto. Du kanske har loggat ut av en rad anledningar, något som Google helst vill gå runt.
Tacksamt nog finns en möjlighet att inte delta i testet. Du kan alltid välja att inte vara med. Och vi gissar att många (förutsatt att de faktiskt känner till den här nyheten), kommer att vilja göra det.
Alla Android-appar omfattas inte av testet
Det kommande testet är planerat att ha sin början inom några månader. Endast mobiltelefoner med Android 5.0 ”Lollipop” eller nyare kommer att vara med i testet. Det bekräftar Google i ett mejl till Play-utvecklare.
Och det gäller att apparna har stöd för användning utan inloggning, annars kommer det inte att fungera. Så om du är utvecklare, eller användare, så måste du kolla att stödet finns där om du vill delta i testet.
Google har tidigare gått ut med information om hur de ser på säkerheten i Play Store. Hur de arbetat tidigare, och hur de kollar framåt för att minska risken för skadlig kod i nya och uppdaterade appar.
Det arbetet går hand i hand med att säkra tillgången till uppdaterad, säkrare kod oavsett om du är inloggad på ett Google-konto eller inte.

In the coming months, Google Play will begin testing a new feature that will automatically allow Google Play to update pre-loaded apps for users who didn’t sign in to a Google account. Users have the ability to turn off this feature at any time if they wish.
This new feature will provide users with a more consistent app experience across many devices and will allow them to access the best and newest features provided by developers. This should also help developers reduce overhead costs required to support obsolete app versions.

We have identified that one or more of your apps may be pre-loaded on various devices and OS versions. We recommend that you verify that new releases of your app will work as desired with or without a Google account. Note that this change will only apply to devices shipped with Android Lollipop (API 21) or newer OS versions.
